The Victoria Falls Canopy Tour offers fantastic views of Zambezi rapids, Victoria Falls Bridge & the spray of the Falls.
Observe the riverine forest from a variety of different vantage points – from above, below and within the canopy itself. This experience is suitable for adventure seekers of all ages including families and groups.
The Canopy Tour consists of nine slides, varying in length and one cable bridge walkway. The longest slide is about 85 metres long and the shortest 40 metres in length. Our friendly and experienced staff will give you a detailed safety briefing before the canopy tour, taking you step by step through your upcoming adventure. There are two guides on each tour, and the activity lasts for between two to two and a half hours.
Riverboarding and Rafting
The Zambezi River is to riverboarding as Hawaii is to surfing. The river is classified as a high volume; pool drop river i.e. there is little ex-posed rock either in the rapids or the pools below the rapids. The distance between rapids allows time to relax and prepare for the next challenge. The gorge itself varies between ap-proximately 140m to 250m deep making for spectacular scenery.
Victoria Falls Bridge
The bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe is a historic, iconic and breathtakingly beautiful spectacle. It hangs within the chasm of the Batoka gorge against a backdrop of the majestic waterfall, begging to be bungee jumped off, slid across and swung from. The team kindly obliged – you will never feel so grateful to be flung from a 120m high platform.
White Water Rafting
The rapids that rage along the Zambezi are a natural roller coaster powered by white water and an overzealous Mother Nature. This extreme adrenaline adventure will leave your arms aching, your heart racing and your mind blown.
Commercial rafting first started on the Zambezi River in 1981 and since then this activity has grown in popularity to the point where a rafting trip on the Zambezi is now a regular feature in many tourist itineraries. Spectacular scenery, sunshine, warm water and superb rapids all make this one of the greatest white water rafting venues in the world.
The Zambezi River is classified as a high volume, pool-drop river i.e. there is little exposed rock either in the rapids or in the pools below the rapids. The distance between rapids varies from 100 m to 2 km. The river drops about 400ft over the 24km that is covered in the one-day raft trip, the depth of the river can reach 200ft.
Scenic Helicopter Flight
Drink in an incredible view of the majestic Victoria Falls, the mighty Zambezi, and the natural beauty of the diverse wildlife that roam through this magical place. Let the flight tell you the story of how the vegetation disperses itself to share sunlight and water. How the river craned a path across the world and how when the sun bounces off the surface of the water leaving behind a speck of light, so it seems there are a thousand diamonds glittering on the mighty river’s back.
Zambezi River Sunset Cruise
Relax and Enjoy the African Breeze on an upmarket cruise boat…
“A river of enchantment and magical colors bursting in the sky creating nature’s own masterpiece”, is the only way to describe the African Cruise on the Mighty Zambezi.
Cruise along the banks of the river, and view the spectacular scenery that is nature’s own sanctuary, and home to the “chortling hippos”, the “singing birds” and the “snapping crocodiles”, as you sip on your drink and indulge in mouthwatering snacks.
Enjoy the hospitality of professional guides and Captains as you relax and enjoy the delicious snacks and chilled refreshments. See the “smoke that thunders” as you gently cruise the upper Zambezi River. Observe the aquatic bird life and other resident or migratory species. You may be fortunate enough to witness the great African elephant swimming from island to island, grazing or dusting themselves on the riverbanks
Elephant Encounter
The Wild Horizons Elephant Sanctuary and Orphanage has been a safe haven to a myriad of orphaned and injured elephants since its conception in 1992. Whilst hand rearing these orphans they have come to understand that the best way to appreciate these magnificent creatures is to let them be wild and free. The Elephant Encounter will give guests the opportunity to interact with the largest land mammals in Africa in a pristine environment overflowing with natural beauty.
An open design thatch Boma gives guests an uninterrupted view of the beautiful Masui River, here guests will be given an insightful and educational presentation on the sanctuary. Guests will be educated on the individual elephants, their lifestyle and their future release plans. Guests will have the opportunity to talk to guides that have journeyed incredible distances, both physically and metaphorically, with these elephants in order learn more about the complexities of each individuals as well as the structure of the herd.
Then venture out into the bush to spend time some quality time with the elephants. Witness and become a part of the special relationship the staff share with the elephants. Marvel at their sheer size and observe their natural behaviour while they browse and interact with one another. There will be opportunities to take photographs with the elephants.
All the elephants under the care of the sanctuary are orphans, or the prodigy of orphans, a haven to elephants in distress within the country. The sanctuary has been refuge to 33 orphaned elephants needing a home, most of which have been released back into the Wild.
